Mr. Charlie Neilson

SPED for Students with Developmental Disabilities

Charlie graduated from the University of South Dakota and Mankato State University in the 1970s. He taught 6th Grade in Custer and Belle Fourche for seven years. In 1982 he began teaching students with developmental disabilities in Spearfish. He earned a masters degree in Administration from South Dakota State University in 1988. Charlie was recognized "Outstanding Special Education Teacher" for 1988-1989 by the South Dakota Department of Education Division for Special Education. Charlie enjoys working with all students. In addition to teaching, Charlie coaches middle school track and high school cross country.
