-Discuss the Olympic Flame and
athletes with the teacher and class.
-Read The Little Engine That
Could and discuss the meaning of determination and goal setting.
-Discuss the goals of Olympic athletes
and compare them to the Little Engine's goals.
-Make an Olympic Torch:
1. Trace the provided pattern of the Olympic Torch on brown construction
paper.
2. Use pieces of yellow, orange and red tissue paper to make the
flame. Put a piece on the end of a pencil, twist and put glue on
the end. Put it on the torch.
-Dictate your long and short term
goals to the teacher.
-Use the Kidspiration template
to type in your long and short term goals. Print the chart.
-Attach your goals to the back
of your torch.
