Educational Background

I grew up in rural North Dakota on a family farm and eventually attended Minot State University, earning my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary (K-8), Special (K-12), and Kindergarten Education.  I moved to Spearfish fresh out of college to teach Reading Recovery and Kindergarten, and also had the privilege of spending a year in second grade.  After that adventure, I made the leap to the middle school to teach eighth grade special education.  I completed my Master of Science Degree in Counseling in 2008 and am proud to have joined the counseling staff here in the district.

My husband Jeff and I have two sons who keep us very busy! We enjoy all the outdoor activities that this community has to offer and enjoy meeting the wonderful people who are a part of it.
